He's one brave welder, holding the work and the filler rod without a glove. One slip and you have 70 Volts or so in your hand, pulsing like crazy. I tried it for a little while and decided a glove is good.

I frequently see guys tig welding bare handed. Every time I try it, I end up sunburned like I do if I mig or stick bare handed. What's up with that? |

If you think sunburn hurts, wait until you accidentally touch the filler rod with the tungsten, or if the work isn't firmly on the grounded table, etc.. |

At 0:48 I think he's welding two very narrow sections together. |
