He's one brave welder, holding the work and the filler rod without a glove. One slip and you have 70 Volts or so in your hand, pulsing like crazy. I tried it for a little while and decided a glove is good. :lol:

I frequently see guys tig welding bare handed. Every time I try it, I end up sunburned like I do if I mig or stick bare handed. What's up with that?

If you think sunburn hurts, wait until you accidentally touch the filler rod with the tungsten, or if the work isn't firmly on the grounded table, etc..

At 0:48 I think he's welding two very narrow sections together.
