My ancient Tom Tom has a faded video screen making it very difficult to see (well at least for me). Looking for a new unit and was thinking all I needed was a very basic GPS device (I have always used "shortest distance" and will use "avoid part of route" knowing my local highway traffic patterns). I gather some of the more deluxe models have the ability to monitor traffic and alter routes based on this info. Looking for your advice. Not particularly interested in anything that has a monthly service but do have blue tooth in the car tethered to my I-phone if that matters. BTW; no way can I use the I-phone for directions as it is too hard to see while driving. Thanks in advance. |

Hi Jim, A bike specific one or just a general purpose car one? Best bike specific one I have found is the Zumo range ( I use the 550). Huge amount of info on the Zumo forum. Cheers ![]() |

Here's mine. It's pretty reliable, but sometimes inaccurate. I used it just last weekend. It's made by Bic. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
