I've been trying to track down my first motorcycle, a 75(?) KH100. I haven't had much luck finding mine(if it still even exists). But, I just came across another one for sale semi-locally. It's got low miles, is in very good shape, and most importantly, has a title. Asking price is $700, I can probably pick it up for $650 if I wave a fist full of dollars at the guy. I'm really torn. On the one hand, it's very similar to the one I used to have. On the other hand, it's not mine. It would definitely be a "just to have," not a "ride regularly" bike, and it's really to nice to make into an exact replica of my old bike(mine was in good shape, but had been repainted numerous times). I can't decide if I should buy it or not...

I would say get it as well and then still keep a lookout for your old bike.

I borrowed my Dad's jeep and motorcycle trailer and went to look at it, a two hour drive. I knew once I saw it that I'd be hauling it home, didn't even need to ride it to make the choice(although I did, and it was a blast :D ). It's exactly like my first bike, the '75 KH100 I had back when I was a kid, but in better shape. In fact, it's in fantastic shape. I was going to make an exact replica of my old bike, but this one's so nice it's staying stock. Honestly, I haven't been this happy with a purchase in a long, long time :D I finally had some time to take some real pics of it.

Super clean, inside and out, and I haven't gone through and cleaned anything yet.

Under 3,600 miles

Original tool kit, complete with original Kawasaki bag

Original tires front and rear, still soft with lots of tread on them

My other bike is a '77 H-D FL, a big heavy bike. I think of the H1 as a small bike. Next to the H1, the KH100 is just tiny :D

I said earlier that I'd leave it stock. I should amend that to "mostly stock." As with all of my vehicles, this one gets the requisite Autobot symbol 8-)

Thanks :) This little bike is sooo much fun to ride. It's so light and nimble, and surprisingly peppy for a 100cc single. It starts right up and runs like a champ...er...did... It had a base gasket leak, so I pulled the cylinder off to reseal it. While reinstalling the cylinder, I snagged a ring and broke it :( Got the parts ordered though, and I should be up and running again in a few days :)

Got my parts in and installed, waiting for my sealer to set. The piston looks a little scuffed, but not to bad. Does anyone know if '75 is late enough to have a metal rotary valve, or does it still have the fiber valve? If it's fiber, is a metal valve a direct swap?

My 75 G7T has the fiber rotary valve, if you want to change form fiber to steel you also has to change the valve cover as the steel valve is much thinner.
