We're right on the mandatory evacuation limit and at the suggested evacuation area. 2000 folks so far evacuated. This started at 1pm at 100 acres and bloomed to 2000 acres in less than 4 hours. 97degree's, 9% humidity and 20mph winds. It's been shifting all day, blooming to HUGE proportions to less. I'm pretty well ready for this from my California earthquake days. We had critical things packed and staged in about 15 minutes and then went to a party some friends were throwing a few blocks CLOSER to the fire but everyone was watching from their deck and news reports. I think we'll be ok but the Boy Scouts have it right - Be prepared! My next door neighbor took this looking over our house. ![]() Around the corner at our neighbors house party (party on Wayne) During the party - we're concerned but you'd never know it (too many wine and jello-shot drinkers) but it would shrink and then bloom HUGE. ![]() One of the times looked under control. ![]() |

Jim wrote: What is a mandatory evacuation? Be safe, Barry. Mandatory means you need to leave, they can't really enforce it due to lack of available manpower and grey legal boundaries. But IF you're outside of the area and try to get past the road blocks (like to get to your home) - you can't... |

I would be very upset if anyone tried to force me to either evacuate my property, or prevent me from accessing it. Freedom is freedom. What grey legal area has anything to do with a person being allowed to remain on his own property? They can't enforce it because the Constitution doesn't allow it, and they know it. In any case, be safe and don't get burned! |

Few things would get me so upset as someone trying to tell me it's "mandatory" that I leave my property. |
