Ok, I have no life, watching cafe racer and the church of ape hangers dude just sai the Honda is going to make 140 hp. It was built 32 years ago. Is he full of hot air or what? |

The engine weighs so much in a 750 SOHC bike you need massive power to move it. I built a 76 Honda Cafe bike last year and what a slug. No way you could get that kind of power out of a SOHC without a supercharger or turbo. I kept this bike for a short time and sold it because it was just to heavy and slow.

You could push a SOHC CB 750 up to 140 hp back-in-the-day (gezzz i hate that phrase) with the likes of Russ Collins R.C.Engineering kits. Of course it took a lot of work and money: big bore, stroker kit, serious heads work, cams, intake work etc...etc.... I had buddies with simple lower cost 883 kits, valves and cams pushing the 80 hp range. |

The motor alone weighs 230lbs, you ever try to lift one out of a frame by yourself  They are dependable motors and run for ever it seems. I boughtmine because I was sick of spending all my time in the garage working on the H1. Sold the CB750 after 6 months and I'm happy to be working on 2 strokes again. At least stock they can pass a civic or school bus

OR..We could all just have an old Z-type Kawasaki sitting nearby. Stomps the hell out of the C.B., as fast as a stock H2 and very reliable. I agree they're NO WHERE NEAR as much fun as an H2. My old four stroke doesn't get much love. But the bike realy is a joy.The old Hondas seem to have no "soul". Is it just me?

I bought a old 81 900F last year to build into another cafe bike. I like the DOHC motor much better but this bike weighs way too much.

i allways wanted a 900F, solid ,comfy and plenty of power , the made a nice touring model all fairing and painiers.
