Got my arm operated on yesterday. Thanks to ambien I slept most of the day. Today I'll seek out an old friend without a day job to kill the time. I ruined my arm digging for some bad underground cable about a year ago. Tennis elbow usually goes away on it's own but in a case like mine where it happens more instantaneously it may not go away without surgery. Thank god it's my right arm and not my clutch arm. Getting old sucks. I woke up with pain in my knee can you believe that crap? The good news is this injury gave me the opportunity to try planning work instead of doing it physically. in other words I'm an office boy now. At 37 with a neck fusion, jacked up arms, and knee issues in the mail I guess I can say my warranty is up and I'm leaving the field for good. I was always proud to tell someone I'm a power lineman, construction coordinator just doesn't have the same ring to it. But what ya gonna do? That's my rant. Anyone else had this surgery? I'm supposed to ice it but it's wrapped up so thick it's insulated ![]() |

If you feel old at 37, you're in trouble. Funny you mention tennis elbow... I'm taking it easy on my right elbow after giving myself a case of slip roll cranking elbow. I seriously got tennis elbow from making chambers! |

Funny you bring this up - both my shoulders are killing me - I'm 52. Monday and yesterday I was installing my well ranted about Trailer Hitch on my car. Being underneath at awkward angles pulling, pushing, pounding and holding up a heavy hitch took its toll on my shoulders big time. Both of them have been dislocated several times over the years (all motorcycle crashes both on and off road). My right shoulder has a permanent 2" drop. Corrective surgery on shoulders is a last resort though. I had my knee replaced a few years ago - that was well worth it, shoulder work, I'm not so sure and the success rate is lower I'm told. Anyway they frigging hurt. Ibuprofen is my friend last few days. |

I'm really sorry to hear about your tennis elbow "sawracer" and 37 is still young, what's with you feeling so old already, you are just a baby. But then my twisted mind got to thinking other ways of getting tennis elbow. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

1. Very funny 2. Not a repetitive motion injury, ( digging not stroking) 3. That being said, Left hand works fine just takes a little longer. ![]() |

Shoulder pain has crept up on me in the last 6 Months - NEVER had any before in my life, One thing that does seem to help a LOT is to do arm outstretched and 50 small rotations in each direction . . works for me ![]() |

Sorry about your elbow, 2 word of advise, use & abuse it. I've got 2 blow cervical disc, 2 degenarated lumbar disc, left knee needs surgery again, 2 bad shoulders and I can't see on the left, but I've skied everyday this week, rode the bike 2x and am practicing for pool league tonite. Do something that takes your mind of the pain or sit on the couch, eat vicodines and hurt all the time. My 2cents PS doc gives me greif for still ridingw/ no per. vision, but skiings more dangerous. and i'll be 58 in the middle of next month |
