For my Yamaha XV750 cafe bike, with too low rear shaft drive gearing, early eighties bike, i use the biggest rear tire i can fit, a 130/90-18 on the 18" rear wheel i use, off a Maxim 750. There seems to only be two choices of tire, a Kenda K657 or a Shinko 230. I had the Kenda but now it needs to be replaced. Anyone have any opinions on these two, mostly low cost tires?

Shinko 230 all the way, or maybe a 712. Just put a set of 712's on my H2 as well. I run 230's on my KZ1000 P and that thing handle's amazingly! Neither will get you 5000 miles but for me riding multiple bikes it is not an issue.

I now have Shinko's on 6 of my bikes with no regret. I plan on buying more as needed!

"Stinkos" get good reviews. The story is they bought the molds from Yokohama...
