I didn't realize that Ewan accepted a Tonight Show challenge to do a jump, but sure enough:

If memory serves correctly, I remember a TV show years ago with two persons riding motorcycles around the world, on and off road, very out of the way and impossible to navigate places, and McGregor was one of the two riders. They literally went everywhere.

That was him, Dave. The other guy is Charley Boorman. He's done a couple of those shows and a new one that starts at the south end of South America is coming out shortly. They did the whole 13,000 miles on Harley Davidson LiveWires, if you can believe that.

Don't they always have a back-up of 10 Mercedes all-terrain trucks, and 6 changes of clothes a day, that kind of thing!!?

I'm sure they do. Don't you when you ride? And this time the chase vehicles will need a couple generators to charge the motorcycles several times per day.

From HD's site: "The high-voltage battery provides 146 miles (235 km) of city range or 95 miles (152 km) of combined stop-and-go and highway range."
