I wouldn't worry too much, CA is more than broke, and in huge debt. 40,000.00 a MILE! And after the first rain, and 100 law suits, it will be removed.

I suspect that throughout the day both white and black end up absorbing the same amount of heat energy. Black just absorbs it faster, but, it also gives off the heat energy faster.

Likely a huge waste of tax payer money...I smell a rat.

Then, there are all the "rain grooves" they put in the asphalt on the freeways, straight on dangerous for bike tires.

Your data is inaccurate. California actually has a $6.1 billion surplus for 2018.

It was in the news yesterday, Whacco-fornia has a serious surplus this year.

The wonderful thing about the rain grooves is, they weren't straight, they weaved in small S patterns, not across the lane, but along it. VERY dangerous.

small gamer, I suggest that all roofs of houses are painted in white as all cars, motorcycles (with white helmets), trucks, trains and lawnmovers :D

this is the first I've heard that heat absorbed by roads is causing global warming.
As already stated, just wait until this stuff wears smooth and becomes slicker than goose $hit when wet.
