Daniel Sexton Gurney - motorcyclist - Rest in Peace, my friend.

We at Team Kawasaki Road Race, and he with his All American Racers crew/team, sat next to each other at Waukeen's Restaurant in Santa Ana eons ago for lunch when we were all in town.

He use to ride one of his custom bikes on Ortega hwy on Sunday mornings years ago. I had the pleasure of talking with him many times and he
was such a great guy. He was fast on that bike and left us younger guys in his dust. His 1967 Gurney Eagle F1 car has to be one of the best looking race
cars of all time. He truly was bigger than life, a great american hero.

I have ridden with him many times on Ortega, he was fast, never did slow down with age.

I was lucky enough to attend many west coast, and five European car races with he, and the All American Racers group.

He was a larger than life person that lived like the normal guy racer he was, and always will be remembered being. He, and another personal friend, Steve McQueen, spent a lot of time at bike races at places like Laguna in our Team Kawasaki pits. Dan would just hang out, and help out any way he could. Steve'd pick up a broom, and sweep the area, do other things for us.

There were more great people that "hung out" with us, we had a lot of car racer friends that rode bikes.

But.....this is Dan's day.
