I was helping a young Army officer this weekend work out electrical issues on his 1968 Honda CL350 (nightmare of cascading issues - sorted it all out after many hours).

Actually there are five of them sharing a house working at Fort Carson. All of them are engineers of varying disciplines and all West Point graduates - VERY sharp young men. I was amazed at their level of education.

Anyway - I went to a house they share and the one roommate is converting a 1980-ish Suzuki 750 into an electric bike (in mick-up stage but mostly sorted) - very cool how he's overcome a lot of the issues of building everything from scratch. From the motor controllers, battery configurations and mounting. The final drive sprocket and chain issues, cooling and much more. Here's some pics I thought you might find interesting.

I wish he was closer, I would love to get that 16 valve 750 motor for my son!

He said it ran fine when he pulled it -- he rode this bike for several years.

This is his first conversion -- once he's figured out all the issues he'll be looking for an old goldwing to convert -- he has twice this many batteries ready but the 750 frame won't hold them all.

As a life long HVAC Guy, Kudos on the Slotted Angle, one of our basic building blocks.
