I have worn glasses since I was in third grade and my poor vision kept me out of Vietnam in 1969. So I've always worn glasses to work in my shop etc. and contact lenses for work. They always try to sell you a non-scratch coating for the new plastic glasses they sell. It seems like they still scratch easy, even though I only was using a glass cleaning towel. So recently my glasses had gotten so scratched up that I could barely see through them anymore, and I thought what do I have to lose? I had all of my buffing equipment set up to polish up my S3, so I put some superfine compound on my fine buffing wheel and buffed the anti-scratch coating off of my glasses. They came out looking fantastic and I'm not going to spend another $300 to get new ones. More dollars for the S3,woo hoo!
I thought a bunch a really smart guys like you might be able to use this tip? I might even try to clean up my honkin' big clear face shield that I should be using when grinding with a 4.5 in. grinder!

Good idea, I have saved a few old CD's the same way! (not so much with a buffing wheel tho!)
