Be careful when you turn it over. If the cam chain tensioner hasn't bee maintained, and is severely loose, the roller on it can be damaged from mild, to gone.

To adjust it, pull the generator sub cover off, turn the engine in normal direction of rotation to get L cyl to TDC, both valves closed, then, back off jamb nut on tensioner set screw, then the scrtew itself, tap tensioner, finger tighten set screw, add 1.8th turn, set jamb nut. Done. Valve settings, intake, .002, exhaust, .003. Points, .014 to .015, these have a mechanical advance behind the point set, if you take it apart to clean it, make sure you get the point cam back on the advance in the correct phasing. If not, it will run on one cylinder, backfire through the other, and drive you bonkers trying to figure it out.

Kick starter lever is conventional, front to rear, one model went rear to front.

BMW had a kick out the side kick start lever.

These bikes were in both 250 and 305 cc versions,
CA: Dream, low square pipes, square appearance, pressed steel frame
CB: Street, low pipes, as in the pic above, round tube frame
CL: Scrambler, both pipes up, and out one side, round tube frame

CA72, 250, CA77, 305
CB72, 250, CB77, 305
CL72, 250, CL77, 305

so CA with high pipes were CA 76 :?:

JP, here in the U.S., there never was a high pipe CA of any kind, only low pipe Dream in 250 CA72, and 305 CA77.

When Honda make Alaska Mexico advertissement travel with two bikes (earlies 60s, 1962 I think), bikes on the pictures had high pipes
