Those on Facebook, look up Consortium racing, if you like machining stuff. They are doing TZ 750 repop engines, and here is the latest post. Even now with all the CNC, it takes many hours to just finish cases. Make me wonder how many stage/hours it took to get a set of raw triple case castings finished?

GOOD NEWS
As reported earlier in the year, our machine shop (Milspec Manufacturing) won some significant defense contracts in January and was unable to find a production slot for our 2016 run of TZ750 engine cases.
The good news is that they have finally started the run and this will be completed in 8 weeks followed by a further week for vacuum impregnation. As incredible as it sounds, even using the modern CNC machining centres, there is over 26 hours of machining in each case-set plus set-up time, vacuum impregnation and 2 hours of deburring and finishing. The first operation is spot-facing some datum features on the top case using an older style CNC mill before mounting them up in the newer style machining centre for some seriously accurate machining.
We are machining 10 sets for 2016 and 5 sets have been already been sold with some interest shown in the remaining sets. I apologise to our customers for the delay and we do appreciate your patience. We expect to ship orders 2 months from today.
