I'm curious how they drive the rotary valves?
I'm guessing that didn't workout so well or they figured an inline 4 was too wide?
An inline rotary valve triple would be a fun project!

Right angle bevel drive shaft for each valve, straight off the crank, beside a main bearing was one way, earlier version used one drive off crank end, and Gilmer belt sets through the rotary valve covers. I have seen both versions, in person. Neat stuff. Another interesting method was the way Bridgestone drove the center rotary valve on their triple rotary valve, triple cylinder prototypes. NONE of the Bridgestone prototypes still exist.
