Had the cylinders bored 1mm over (4th)

Lining everything up to attend my first event as a participant on the track. Feb 26th will be AHRMA school and plan to race Sat 2/27 and Sun 2/28 in Novice Historic Production class. If all goes well, will try to attend races at Talladega, NOLA in New Orleans, and the final event at Barber next year. Big thanks out to Scott Turner and Chuck Quenzler for all the help and assistance in getting me to the track. Bike is with me right now with lights so I can ride and get comfortable with it while the race motor is being assembled. Plan to swap motors and get it ready for the track by January. This has been on my bucket list for a while, I am so excited. Having been to Barber the last couple of years hanging around the pits and at Scott's place in the paddock has put the itch in me to get moving forward. It is a cool fraternity of riders who share a common passion to get out there on vintage machines and just have some fun. Who knows, maybe I can compete but will never know unless I get out there.

Hope to see some of you next year in Birmingham God willing.......

Great weekend racing....weather was cool but dry and sunny. Went up with the Dime City crew including Scott Fiedler and Scott Turner. Will and Richard were also with us and they both were in the racing school with me on Friday. Both Scott and Will had several podium finishes in Vintage Superbike and Sportsman classes.

We had three practice sessions on the track Friday during class ending with a mock race for all the newbies at the end of the day.

Scott, Richard, and I were in the Historic Production Lightweight class all riding CB350's. There were 14 in our class and four classes in the race totalling 52 bikes on the track! Turn 1 was pretty dicey with lots of folks trying to gain position, but there were no incidents. Each race was 6 laps. We took it easy learning the track and getting comfortable. On Sunday, I had a duel with a CB400 the last two laps and was finally able to slingshot around on the last lap and get ahead with enough momentum to stay in front to the checkers. I finished 6th on Saturday, and 5th on Sunday. On to NOLA in less than three weeks.

Looks like a great time Jim! I would love to do something like that! Been so busy getting the H1 ready to sell and buying a house (YYYYYEESSS! A garage again!!! ). We need to get together, I miss the "After Christmas" rides we did with Ed and Tony for a couple of years... We'll talk soon.

The 2017 season approaches, last year we banked some great memories.
Time to get busy! Refreshing the motor in the 350 (new bores, cam, valves, tranny).
Also starting a new bike (250 single 2-stroke) for Formula 250!
Wish I had gotten involved a long time ago........
