Went to a Yamaha dealer here in Dallas to take a look since they make the all Black one for 2016 !!! You are right,the bike is a heck of a deal for the money !!! All the reviews say they got the fueling right now !!! Sitting on the bike I noticed the bike is incredibly light !!! I never liked the bike when it first came out,but both the 2016 Black and Blue look really good !!! I was surprised at the blue one because it is almost a candy blue !!! The all black motor looks great !!! Guy was trying to sell me the bike on the spot and I think he would have bargained but I told him I was just taking a look and wanted to see what the out the door price was !!! They came back with $9800.00 which is a lot more than the retail price of $8150.00. Watching the FZ 09 forums and most of the guys have been talking out the door prices between $9K and $9500.00 !!! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I still think the Brutale triple is a better looking bike but they are twice as much as the Yamaha !!! Some things I like,the bike is small,its a triple,love the black and the black forks now,the shorty pipe for a stock pipe looks good and its more of a silver than I thought it was,looks good with the black,blinkers look cheap and would be the first thing to go if it was my bike !!! I think the bike would look better with lower taper handle bars !!! The tank is wide in the front by the handlebars but so are most 4 stroke modern bikes,the triple engine is compact and looks great in black,seat height is good,I know you liked the blue wheels but the black wheels to me,make the bike look much better !! The only bad thing is no ABS,but I guess they had to keep the price down !!! Walked away thinking I would be happy with the bike and over all was impressed by the price and build quality of the bike !!!

Thanks for the review and photos, Barry. I'm pretty sure the cheap tail ends with the cheap turn signals are just that... made to be as cheap as possible to satisfy the DOT rules, because they know everyone will throw it away and remount the tag. I have to wonder how a dealer gets from $8,150 to $9,800 when they can't even add undercoating and Polyglycoat. :lol:

The whole tail light and plate/turn signals look like a total after thought. The fender extension will get ripped off my most and the plate remounted like Jim said but I think the brake/tail light is still going to look out of place.

That is a big jump from MSRP to OTD. The last new street bike I bought was in 2003 and if I remember right, I was OTD for right around the MSRP and that was with a Kawasaki extend warranty.

There is a local dealer here that charges about $1900 per bike claiming it is setup charge :wtf:

I like the looks of that bike :thumbup: I would love to drive one, I have never bought a new bike and have no plans to but this one temps me to think about it.

I don't know what bike dealers make on sales, I always wonder about that and car dealers...
My wifes family ran a Mitsubishi truck dealership for many years and the sales on the trucks were always a wash, which used to piss my father-in-law off. You never wanted to be there when he was going over sales numbers :evil:
You had to get a service contract or some customized set up before they made any money on the truck.
And they made good money on recalls or warranty stuff, Mitsu always wanted to make sure there was incentive to get that stuff done asap, although the rules on how and what could be done where tight.

It's pretty certain that the price will be lower next June, when they're about to become last year's model.

You know a couple days ago I called one Yamaha shop here and I ask the sales guy " Hey I want to see a 16 09 in Raven( black ) !! He says yeah have one on the floor right in front of me !! So I drive out and I walk in and its a 2015 silver with the blue wheel and Yosh pipe !!! I go where is the 16 and this sales guy goes,its right there but its in silver !!! He goes yeah its a 16 so you can see what the bike looks like !!! I told him no thats not a 16,they come in black and blue and then you know how you can see that look on someones face when that realize they have no idea what they are talking about !!!! Its hard for me to believe but if you are selling something don't you think you should have a little clue about what you are selling !!!! He started the bike and the Yosh pipe was loud sounded like crap.I hate that loud 4 stroke sound !!! Anyway I get a text a 9 this morning and its another salesmen at that same shop and he says we have a 16 Black on the floor and sends me a picture !!! I told him I already saw one at the sister store and to be honest I thought the out the door price was way high !!! He said give me your email address and I will see what I can do !!! I will let you know what he sends back !!! Just curious !!!

i went in my local Houston dealer and they had a 2015 and 2016 (blue) .
had a sit on them ,and a they feel very light .
the one thing that freaked me out was you dont see the headlight as its mounted lower on the forks.
and the dash is small and to one side.
it just felt like i had slid up the tank and was looking at the front wheel.
they were busy so no salesmen bothered me.

I worked as a mechanic at a Saturn dealership when they were in business. A highlight for salesman(and marketing) was they had plastic dent resistant fenders, door skins and quarter panels. The salesman liked to show this off. Well in 2000 when Saturn got there larger car, the L-series the plastic quarter panels went back to steel.

There was a cut away L-series on the showroom floor that showed various features. One of the "informed" salesman was showing off the how Saturn's had dent resistant panels to a customer and you can probably guess what happened next. Yup, he went up and kicked the rear quarter panel resulting is a huge dent in it. :lol:

It really is amazing how many un-informed salesman there are out there and just how many equally un-informed consumers that buy into what they are selling.
