A friend picked this up, had some fun and then it stopped shifting. He didn't have time to mess with it so gave it to me.

Problems:

Won't shift.
Leaking oil all over the place.
Throttle sticking, not original.
Brakes shoes worn out scraping the drum.
Handle bar welded..... poorly.
Headlight bucket bent broken not working.
No tail light assembly.
Wiring cut/hacked.
Points pitted and condenser bolted to the coil.
Leaking crank seals.
Leaking shift shaft seal.

That's just what I can remember off the top of my head. lol

Figured I'd post some pics of the rebuild as it goes along.

I always liked those bikes. I rode one in a min-bike motocross race back in 1972, I did bad.

You may want to have your family review your 911 dialing procedure if you get it running...they're dangerously fun and powerful.

I wish I had a video of Mr_Dunev starting this thing. He put the front tire up against a steel pole and kicked the engine over as the rear tire was screeching against the pavement fighting for it's life trying to start. He kept saying it's starts really it does it's just stuck in gear. :banghead Oh I hated to see the poor little bike being molested like this so I had to have it. I think it did start briefly before it gasped it's last breath and I thanked the motorcycle gods for putting it out of it's misery.

I spent 4 hours on it yesterday and hopefully I'll have some video of it running very soon.

What's in the bottom photo? It looks like a broken plastic shift pawl, but it can't be.

You can add to the list: Fuel filter installed backwards.
