I bought a jetski project for next to nothing during Christmas time. It is a 93 Arctic Cat Tigershark which has the stock 2 cylinder 640cc Suzuki engine. I guess they didn't make their own engines.

Long story short. The parts aren't available from more than just a couple places. The main problem is the crank shaft bearings. It needs 4 bearings, one is $106 and the other 3 are $70 a piece. They are all the same size but the $106 one has the snap ring groove in it.

But I searched the bearing size and found the correct size and style bearing for $8 a piece from a bearing place. The only unknown is if the groove is in the right location. http://www.usabearingsandbelts.com/m7/6 ... 72x17.html

So the question is can I use these and save $300? Are crankshaft specific bearings made to better tolerances or with different metallurgy that would make these bearing not hold up?

Let me know what you think, thanks.

Get it touch with Chuck "Supertune" Quenzler. He's the man!
