guess Yamaha likes to repeat goof ups they had similar issues in 86 with the 1100 , had a recall to split the cases back then. |

Can you elucidate on the 1100 ? No need to split the cases for this (mild) one...? ![]() |

Actually, BMW for example have had a litany of disasters lately, the latest being exploding rear hubs, so I don't think it's confined to 1 particular Manufacturer. |

https://www.yahoo.com/autos/s/makes-...100025261.html This is way out of any real measurement as the numbers are for failures on four year old motorcycles with no mention of the service records associated with the bikes used as data points. And some sort of adjustment for mileage driven over a 12-month period; whatever that means. The way I see how some treat their motorcycles it's little wonder they have problems. Reliability by brand Brand Percent failed Yamaha/Star 11% Suzuki 12 Honda 12 Kawasaki 15 Victory 17 Harley-Davidson 26 Triumph 29 Ducati 33 BMW 40 Can-Am 42 |

I note the Japanese Brands head the Reliability list, pretty much as they do for the 4-wheel sector, no surprises there! (That link doesn't work down here, no biggie!) |
