I enjoy college football and basketball.Pro sports, not so much. I only watch them if I'm bored out of my mind.

Thats really too bad. There's a few people at my work who could care less; but beyond that, they cut it down, refer to the players as idiots. Wierd ! They're just showing their ignorance.

Its just a game. It's just for fun.

Yes, some take it too far. Some get silly with it. But then, they are just having some fun. Many are like me, I watch the games of the university I went to; I don't flip out if I'm not able to catch a game; of course an important game I'm not going to miss. Who's going to miss getting together wth a bunch a friends to jump up & down having fun over a game.

I love going to the games; back to the old campus; get there early and spend the day on the quad. To me, it's the modern day Rome, the coliseum, galdiators doing battle. Who didn't want to be with friends and go to the coliseum !

This is how the coach arrives to the games: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnPrAgeIs-M

Ouch.............right cross to Gumby Gums....

TV is chuck full of crap, and I'm talking mind numbing crap. Only thing worth watching is sports. Not so much pro, but the college games still have the grass roots passion. Those kids ain't getting the big bucks..yet.

Being a long hair, lanky, loner, music guy that just wanted to build things and go fast, sports never interested me. I'm sure it was pretty much the same everywhere, the jocks got cut all sorts of slack, and acted "golden". Most were dumb as a rock, and most were always limping around or something was wrapped up. This was high school. In the couple of years of college I had, it wasn't much different, except they were drunk more of the time. I was forced to go to the football games in high school (band geek... ) but could never get out of there fast enough. I would rather be racing down a back road or wrenching on something. Watching guys slam into each other for hours, never made any sense to me. They literally bust their asses, and then some guy kicks a field goal and they win or lose. Then both teams get drunk, crash cars, and the schools covers it up.

Very few make the big time, the rest have a "cheater" degree, and are no smarter than they left high school. Some get crippled up, and many now have brain damage.

That's just how I see it. I know many will totally disagree, and that's cool. And now back to the Gumby reruns and History channel 2......... :e11 :e11 :e11

Dr Moo.....seems you were unfortunately exposed to the wrong people too often. In my experience I did come aross a few like you did in HS, but not at the university. 99% of the so called jocks I knew were the most disiplined and generally straight A/B students working towards worthy majors. In HS for me it was the none sport guys who were the big drunks and drug users.

In my experience, I found a lot of none sport guys just hated sports and jocks for no real reason at all.....
