That is an amazing collection of vintage snowmobiles. That's the one thing about so Cal that's a bummer, no snow.

It is cool! Those old sleds took some skill to operate, you could turn the skis and they would just keep tracking dead straight! :D

Many of the John Deere sleds back then were Kawasaki powered. My buddy had a 440 liquifire with a few mods (but called stock ...ahem..) that absolutely cleaned house at the drags. There were no local Kawasaki snow machine dealers in our area so Kawasaki sent technicians to his Deere dealership to make sure they won races - as long as they displayed the "Kawasaki powered" stickers.

Thats the thing about the old Cat's. Those things TURN, and TURN WELL. They are light, low and with the Kawi engine... Fast little suckers.
You guys would be amazed how hard those little singles pull.

I run 10" Carbide Wearbars, sharpened like a Razer..Because the Studs and carbides rip up the track, the race workers plow the track down to the ice before the races start, and plow after every 2nd race or so.
I made this jig to get the Carbides sharp..
