I like the looks of the Versys. The V-Strom look good too, but I am a Kawasaki guy so... Being 6'4" I have comfort issues with most bikes out there. Was going to save some money and get the Buell Ulysses before the idiots closed production :e4 . I do like the YB and alien green colors though. 8-)

Yea Ric, that F800 is nice but way out of my price range ($12K MSRP), is the F650 just a detuned 800?

i had a f650 for abot 18 months ,very solid if a little top heavy ,good two up as well.
but not sporty enough for me so it had to go.
a buddy has the suzuki and loves it.
but i think its all down to personal taste and if you can get a good deal on one.

Good news - Picking a 2012 up next Saturday :D :D :D

Good news - Need to put 1,000 miles on her in the following two weeks so I can join 7 other friends for a week long bike retreat in N. Georgia

Bad news - Must keep the revs below 4K for the first 500 miles and 6K for the next 500 miles

 I think I had a couple of triples like that - it only takes a couple of days!! (Don't "ride it like you stole it' )

Rod, Versys

I will have this thing broken in quickly, IMO the factory recommendations for break-in are too tame to properly seat the rings. If they aren't set by 50 miles, they probably never will be 8-)

My plan:
- Start with a good warm up
- 10 miles hard acceleration/deceleration up to 1/2 throttle, cooldown
- Warm up then variable throttle ride for 15 mins
- 10 miles hard acceleration/deceleration up to 3/4 throttle, cooldown
- Warm up then variable throttle ride for 15 mins
- 10 miles hard acceleration/deceleration up to full throttle, cooldown
- Warm up then variable throttle ride for 15 mins
- Oil and filter change (non-synthetic)
- Run normally to 500 miles
- Oil and filter change (Motul synthetic)

Now I've stepped in it, I sense a "break-in" hijack coming :o
