Gotta chime in on this.

We have one highway from Colorado Springs to Denver, it's mostly posted at 75 but most people do 80+. It's a nicely paved mostly straight highway.

I commuted to Denver for a few months and during those hours I was amazed most people were going at least 95 :o

If someone were to loose control the crash debris field could stretch for hundreds of yards. Occasionally you would see the remains of them.

This is true. Where I grew up the hills were so steep and long, when your ball rolled down the hill you just said "screw it"...

They may have had a special deal going on. Around here they call it rolling thunder. Cops come from all over to bust people on the interstate. They are looking for drugs mainly but they do bust their fair share of speeders.
