I just had my fifth radio installed by TOYOTA. Does anyone else on this board have one? (I've found the problem)

Just curious... bad ground from the battery to the engine? I've seen ham radio equipment with burned ground traces on the circuit boards from when the starter motor current tried to get to ground through the radio.

A shorted out sub wiring harness. It's a chronic issue that TOYOTA can't seem to cure. OR EVEN DIAGNOSE! The radios turn on and off by themselves. Change channels, screens go black, etc........Disconnecting the controls from the radio seetings in the steering wheel make the issue go away. Replacing the sub harness cured it. Toyotas repair was to replace radio five times!! Five months of battling with TOYOTAs customer service got me reimbursed! Type TOYOTA RADIO on GOOGLE. It's frightening.

When I had the shop I once had to explain to a dealer how the radio in a Town & Country works so they could fix it under warranty. The cust was so frustrated they were willing to pay me to diagnose it for them. There are some really sharp dealer techs out their and a whole bunch :banghead
