Those cars are remarkably smart. You can see right at the beginning the tires do start to spin. My guess is they didn't disable the ESP and the ABS took over and applied full rear brake when it sensed the wheel slip then once the clutch started slipping it was over.

I woke up this morning thinking that they must have left the parking brake on as the car didn't jostle around much as it is difficult to hit the gas, the brakes and dump the clutch with only 2 feet.

If it was in for a tire change, what chance that the owner knew his clutch / flywheel had just seen extreme wear or damage?

I did some more reading around the interwebs, the Z06 tires are so sticky and the brakes so big that the clutch is the well known weak point and will slip if you're an inexperienced burnout practitioner.

I know a guy who bought a brand new Corvette, they were on sale for a little over $40K, a real bargain.

When he took it to the strip, he said it was extremely difficult to control.

I am surprised, he said is actually is dangerous under full throttle, the car just can not handle it, it wants to swap ends.

In this day and age, that is unacceptable IMO.

He did dump another 8K into the motor, it is making some horsepower, but still, under power it should try to at least go straight!

Doesn't the traction control make it less of a handful?

No, but it sure makes clutch burnouts easier.

Most of them, myself included, are arrogant pricks. That's actually why I bought mine. It lets people know I'm an a$$hole without me having to explain it to them :D
