There used to be no end to "enhansements" to NASBORE vehicles, false firewalls, multiple fuel coolers, and, Smokey's 7/8ths sized '68 Camaro. There was even none hear, a 20 os steel"Coke bottle" that was given into the driver's compartment, then, in qualifying, the car flew, end of session, bottle removed, and none were the wiser, save tech, which demanded the mitrous bottle, of which, it was the steel Coke bottle. BUSTED.

There were always quiet threats by tech ti tear the car apart in the center of the garages area, out in the open, for all to see.

The only thing that has even come close to interesting me is the engine and drive train development, and the engine people, other than that, the prancing, preening, self-over important of drivers and others in NASBORE just plain don't interest me.

One year, NASBORE insisted they be involved with Formula 1 Grand Prix racing, as "they were the same top speeds as the GP cars". A test was set up, two of the fastest NASBORE cars were lined up with the two slowest GP cars at Daytona, usng the full road course. NASBORE cars were given a 1/2 lap lead start, and the GP cars still beat the stockers. Niki Lauda did the same a couple of years later for a TV show.

Racing used to be fun...extremely sneaky, but FUN. It's just politics and money these days.
