The bike needs a "few things", but the builder likes it, and that's all that matters.........

Bringing this old thread back to life. Repeating the questions below:

"...does anyone know of a beefier front end with thicker stanchions and a little more travel that can be transplanted onto the older H1 front end with minimal mods/machining? And how about swingarms? Looking for something maybe a little longer than the original and that would accommodate a fat knobby tire. I'd like to preserve the use of the front and rear drums if possible."

Anyone have info along these lines? Also, what is the maximum rear tire width you can run on an early H1 without running into chainline problems? Thanks...

A late H2 swingarm is an easy swap into an H1 and is 3 or 4" longer.

Seems to me that if you have been holding off working on your offroad H1 idea for almost 4 years because you need ideas from here to start, then the project will never happen. Take some initiative and see what you can research yourself, measure some existing bikes and get going on it. Things don't happen in life if we sit and talk about them with no physical progress to back up the talk. Before you know it life will pass you by and all become dreams we once had rather than accomplishments we can sit back and admire.

Thanks for your "life coach" advice DGA. If there's one thing I look for coming to a motorcycle internet forum, it's that. So thanks for coming through for me. Hopefully you can pass on that good advice to others in need? Good luck with it.
