A guy I work with called me this morning and said a fellow showed up with an old Kawasaki and asked if I was interested. I went to take a look and found this, a 650 Kawasaki. He didn't have a title and said it was a 1967. I know nothing about these so according to the frame and engine numbers I would think it is a 1966. The rim codes say 6B so they were definitely made in '66. The only piece missing is the rear grab bar. The engine is locked up but the bike is pretty much all there and in very nice shape. I'm not sure is what I will do with it yet but I think it should be cleaned up, got running and left as a survivor. There is something about this bike though and I kind of like it!

Yes it's in great condition. Can you get a new title for it?

I should be able to. In South Dakota if you are a business you can get a "junk/salvage" title and when it's issued it has a letter designation that denotes it was once unclaimed. The other way is to contact the last titled owner and see if they will apply for a replacement title and then sign it over to you.

I called my wife after I bought it and said, "Sweetie, I bought another old Kawasaki from 1966, it's in pretty nice shape", and she said, "how many motorcycles do we have now?", and I told her, "15", she said, "that's nice, do you have a place to put it?". She's great. :D I thought by the frame and engine number it would be a '66, but I am still learning these, this is the first one I have ever seen outside of pictures. I feel the love boys! ;)
