I know an old ducati dealer that swears by that stuff.

friend of mine knows a radiator shop that does tanks with the stuff. They steam clean the tank first then apply multiple coats. It worked really well. The downside is that it takes days to dry. Caswells is a clear 2 part epoxy that is ready the next day so thats what I went with instead

J-B Weld actually held on my VF500 at the low point of the tank for 2+ years. May have held indefinitely if I hadn't purchased a tank with less rust and damage.

So, you're saying that you have used it and one quart or pint can as shown wont cover an H1 tank?

That could well be the stuff the Caswell repackages and sells as Phenol Novolac Epoxy Tank Sealer.

I am not a regular member on this board and do not log in frequently. I did for another reason and stumbled on this thread. I HAVE used this Red Kote tank liner on a recent project and it worked great. I had a old Yamaha fuel tank that had been lined several years ago but that very old liner was slowly disintegrating and small pieces were clogging the petcock / fuel filters. So I cleaned out the tank as best as possible and re-lined it with this red kote stuff. It works fantastic and one of the things the instructions say is that it is great for coating and covering all sorts of crap in fuel tanks to include rust and old liners. I do recommend you let it dry a lot longer than they say too, luckily its been winter and I had no need for the tank and after re-lining I had it painted. The liner leaves a nice smooth red rubbery coat inside the tank. Best Regards, Eric
