we arrived safely but the transfer time at chicago was tight at 55 minutes!
We got fast tracked through security and made it with 15 mins to spare.
American airlines international flight which meant FREE red wine :D
Rick picked us up with the flat back trailer attached and it was straight off to pick up some bikes.
Later the T bone steak and Draught Guinness in TWO pint glasses went down really well!Well almost as Kennys steak was bordering on still being alive
We dropped the bikes at the storage depot that is pretty full already
Back at base it was red wine all round and we went to bed at 5AM UK time having been up 23 hours.
Me AL and Kenny were up at 6am USA time starting to get sorted out for Mid-Ohio :D :D :D :D :D

I'm just reading the write up of your 2012 trip to Mid Ohio in the KTC mag, Malc! So we'll have to wait until 2014 for the write up of this one, right?

Looks like RB's wankers cramp has caught up with him at last.....

Have a good trip and keep posting pictures, I s'pose you are happy to get away from the baking hot weather in the UK right now. :wtf:

A Loooong day!!
We set out from Traverse at 8.45 and did the journey to Mid-Ohio in one hit! (We usually do it over two days!!)
We arrived in Mansfield 5 miles from the Mid-Ohio site at 8.00pm.
We had one major stop at the mount Pleasant salvage yard :D

70 H1 (matching numbers) still had the bridgeport barrels!!
Image

Dragged this front end out of the bushs!!

Image

It was worth the $10 he charged me for the WHOLE front end just for the caliper.
Kennys NOS H2A rev counter he found in the speedo dept was VERY expensive at yet another $10!!!!

Another H1 with Bridgeport barrels and we could not get the grab rail to move!!

Image

Back on the road!

Image

After eating in Mansfield and AL having 6 pints of lager!!, we are back at the hotel and partaking in the customary Red wine!
We had to come back as me and Kenny drank the Pub dry of Guinness :D :D :D
Thats going to be it till maybe sunday night as we will have no inter net access at Mid-Ohio :( :( :(

that 70 hulk only has a Bridgeport in the center cylinder, and I have been working on that grab rail for years. I took the bolts out 6-8 years ago. eventually I will cut the frame off probably. Most of the 3 cyl stuff is pretty poor. If not junk. I have always wanted to haul that 70 out of there, but its just toast. its a ball of rust inside the clutch cover. I have scoured that yard in the early spring with no foliage. surprised you all missed that 73 H2 frame setting in the first row, right where I set it 6 years ago. recently it looks like someone took a hammer and tried to bash the jugs off the loose core h1 engines in the pile, as they are now all destroyed. there is a workable s2 tank on that rack in the center between the kaws and suzukis. and a complete S2 core in the core pile. And I hate to bust your bubbles but in all the H1 engines at M&S Salvage, there is only 1 Bridgeport cylinder. And its been setting with no head for the last 10 years or more. I have ran my finger in every h1 cylinder on the place. They are good people to deal with. But the reality is I have been digging in that mine for 15 years.
