I'm just finding out that a lot of guys have or had really cool jobs. So if you like to share, lets us know, what you know.

I'll start,

I was a line mechanic in the mid 70's for a Lincoln, Mercury dealer.

Auto repair shop mechanic and shop foreman for The Army vehicles at Holloman AFB NM (got to see a SR 71 land and was there when the first F 15's got stationed there. 1977-78. And when I got my first triple.

Worked at a RV place, installing roll bars, lighting, wenches, turbo's and such.

head mechanic at the local Kawasaki shop for a year.

Learned dental lab work, built my own company. Where I learned to cast gold, carve wax, and build smiles. :D (dentures)

Was in sales that took me all over the country, for 5 years.

Went into jewelry manufacturing, learned all facets of that business.

Spent a year in San Francisco selling my jewelry as a street artist. (that's when I got back into triples, and started designing my reed kits)

Spent time as a "door slammer" at a plastic injection factory and went through QC school there.

Started a small jewelry design and manufacturing business.

My reed conversion business took off, I added porting, head rework and fiberglass bodywork. and that's my current business.

Na, haven't met him yet but I can see him, he'd fit right in Gumby suit and all. I have been working in SF for quite a long time and there are lots, and I mean lots of strange people here. :P Especially late at night...

I left high school wanting to be a tool and die maker but went to college for mechanical engineering as a fall back... I landed an apprenticeship in tool and die after college but only stuck it out for 5 years before moving on to automation design for 15 years. Some of the stuff I worked on in that field was automated industrial fuse manufacturing, composite sail manufacturing and carbon fiber fuselage manufacturing. Since then I've had my own company and contracting for the past 7 years designing for a machine tool builder. Mainly CNC retrofits and custom machines.

In the future, I'd love to get into something related to motorcycle design but not holding my breath...
