Currently the only insurer that offers a " Stated Value Policy" is Progressive Insurance. Most of the companies contacted offer a "actual cash value". After seeing some of the nicest machines on this site that are worth much more than actual cash value, I was wondering what other members do to insure their rides, and with whom? Progressive has some very unusal views politically. Thanks |

Hagerty here. Very fair rates. I've not had to file a claim. |

I switch to Hagerty last year after hearing about them on this board. My annual premium went from the mid $200s with Progressive to about $80/year. They wrote the policy on agreed value and took my word for that, which I found a little odd, but that's what the policy says. I guess you know that "stated value" means you state it, but they may try to pay less when the time comes, since they haven't agreed to it. Hagerty writes only classic vehicle insurance, so they don't want to hear that you ride the bike to work every day, or use it for shopping, etc.. |

I just gave them a call out of curiosity, but now I'm switching. If the bike gets damaged, they send the money directly to me if I'm doing the repairs myself. Not bad. Good rates too |

Switching to Hagerty has been on my ToDo list for a long time. Been with Progressive forever because of they do insure for the value but I've never had to file a MC or Car claim (Just fire but that's a different story). |

hagerty is a big NO for me. I had a classic car under them.. and I must have a daily driver car to prove that the classic car is not a daily driver.. no problem, that is ok and I had been doing that with them for years. I called them to add my classic Honda.. they said I had to have a daily driver motorcycle also or they would not insure it.. WTH? I immediately cancelled all my policies with them and went with American Modern... much cheaper than hagerty too... |

Maybe you got a trainee? |
