My youngest grandson wanted a ride when we were camping last weekend.

He was very serious about the ride, he seemed to be concentrating very hard the whole ride. He loved it.

The H1 putted (about 2K) for about 20 minutes, never fouled a plug, but sure smoked a lot when I opened it up later.

Before I hear the safety comments, right or wrong we stayed in the campground, truly never went over 10 mph, I had his legs pinned to the gas tank. 35 years ago, I took all my kids for their first rides this way, never a problem.

Very cool Joe. No safety judgements from me, we're all adults here. Can't wait to take my grandson for his first ride.

Start'em Young!
Great picture, you should frame that one

It reminds me of taking my son skiing, at four years old, between my legs without poles - just holding his hands and barrelling downhill as fast as we safely could. Same thing with riding, get them started young. They "get it" instinctively at such a young age.

I don't know how many times I've seen some old-fart (someone my age or older) riding a Harley on the twisties, and they have no clue what counter steer is! It's just crazy

Cool picture, memorable times are some of the very best.

He'll probably remember that ride long after we're all gone.

Priceless Joe! He may grow up to appreciate triples too one day. I've ridden my youngest son that way too several years back.

Great story & picture Joe!

One of my son's first rides was on a Hodaka Road Toad I had restored. He was too young & small at the time to touch the ground while on the seat. I would just set him on it, put it in 1st gear and run along side easing the clutch out. He would do lap after lap in the back yard (with helmet). When he had enough, I would run along side & catch him. He loved it!
