Since I'm changing providers I thought I'd look into specialty insurance. Did and on-line quote just now with Hagerty for the H2 and the DT. The lowest they have is $5k so the DT is 5k and the H2 is 10k just to pick a value. 300 miles for the DT and 1000 for the H2 annually, full replacement coverage no strings (that I can see) is only $266/year. Seems reasonable to me. Anyone have experience with this stuff? |

BB, I have Hagerty on my H2 for about 3 years now. $12,000 coverage at about $240 annually. Never had to file a claim and hope not to. Very satisfied with Hagerty! |

It varies a lot by state, Barry. A lot of guys get great prices and coverage from Dairyland, but they don't do insurance in NC. There are only a few companies that do, for some reason, like oddball insurance laws here. Your price is not too different from what I'd expect to pay from Progressive, but you really need to hear from guys who live in Colorado to know what kind of deal you're getting. |

just got quoted haggerty for the RD(6k), the frog(8k), the ducati(15k), and the moto morini(7k). Also the 62 Falcon(4500 replacement). $518.00 a yr. cheaper than progressive and has full replacement. No deductible except the falcon which is 500 bucks.. also, they dont require me to add Shelly (wife)OR Josh(17 yr old stepson) to my policy as progressive tried to do. Switched truck from progressive to State auto, better coverage, cut that policy in half. .02  Progressive can suck it.

Progressive is cheaper for me than Allstate. I called Hagerty to see if they sell insurance in NC, but they're closed until Monday. I'll try again then. The local Kaw dealer knew only of Allstate and Progressive for MC insurance in NC, but maybe that's because he doesn't deal with old motorcycles. |

Funny, I was just talking to Gordon East ( ilbikes ) and he uses Condon & Skelly.He has about 30 bikes insured with them full coverage and cheap prices. I'm going to call them Monday and check prices. I have state farm with the bare minium coverage.As a VJMC member we are supposed to get another 10% off. I'll keep y'all posted. |

I use Dairyland, BUT I have only liability insurance, so I don't know about full coverage costs. Dairyland allows 3 bikes per policy. The policy that has my 72 H2, my GT550 and my KE100 is $75.00 per year. The other policy that has my 74 H2, my 72 S2 and my Hondamatic (soon to be switched over to a Yamaha XS750) is $90.00 per year. So 6 bikes insured for $165.00 per year. Again, that is liability only. When Shifty wrecked my bike at Deals Gap, they paid for the girl's bike promptly and covered her hospital bill (Emergency room outpatient only, thank God) with no questions asked other than why I allowed Shifty to ride my bike. Now, whether Dairyland went after Shifty's insurance company, I don't know...once Dairyland paid the girl he hit, I was cut out of the loop. Jeff |

Buddy, when I entered North Carolina for my state, it wouldn't give me any coverage amounts. I tried with MD, and it worked, so it looks like it's another company that doesn't insure in NC. |

Barry, I found Hagerty's online quote page and tried it. It seems OK with selling me insurance in NC, and quotes me $138/yr for a vehicle value of $5,000 and $250,000/$250,000/$500,000 liability and 10 mile free towing. Going to 50 mile towing adds $16 for $154/yr. Entering 1,500 miles of driving per year or 4,000 miles/year didn't change the price. I'm paying nearly double that now, and will be making some phone calls tomorrow to change companies. Thanks very much! Edit: http://www.classicins.com seems to be even cheaper. |
