Here is a link to some flow data for commonly used pod filters.
I believe a lot of you are using UNI UP-4229.

Well, they don't seem to hinder power, plus they are not trying to fill a 550cc cylinder.

Two things, first the K&N's hard back usually causes jetting problems, and second, they do not bend around the frame tubes as needed.

From decades of hands on experience with all the various filtering methods and setups, I remain firmly committed to stock air boxes, and specialty air boxes on race bikes, with K&N filters in them, or, individual K&N's mounted to the carbs, with the correct length/design extensions.

I have NEVER found a foam filter I liked. However, when we used to race the Baja races and other long dirt races, we put a trap door on the air boxes, and wrapped the K&N filter with a foam outer cover. when the engine went from actually running, to being so anemic it wouldn't pull, we'd reach down and open the door, and tear the foam cover off the K&N, restoring the engine's performance. Just gave us a while longer filter life in the long dirt races, especially those with that soft silt and dirt/dust.

Just my opinion from decades of hands on fiddling with this stuff.
