Happy New Year everyone! I have a question about tires. What would be the problem with running a front tire on the rear of a motorcycle? I realize some front tires have a tread pattern that you wouldn’t want to use on the rear. In the case with a tread pattern that is somewhat close to the rear tread pattern, such as a Dunlop D404, would it make any sort of difference? Reason I’m asking is I need a smaller rear tire than most companies offer for their rear tires. Also, just curious what you guys think about it. |

I'd probably avoid it, but there's a bunch of supermoto guys who run BT-45 front tires on the rear. In that case the front and rear tread patterns are nothing alike, too. |

In my case, both tires would be the exact same tread pattern. As it is, both the front and rear tires are pretty close in tread pattern. |
