I forgot that it happened that far back, Barry. That was only the second year I went to Deals Gap. I see the domain name registration includes a couple GLOBAT nameservers. |

It's the hosting company that I've been using for years and I don't hesitate to recommend them. Not the cheapest, but the service is solid and customer service has been great the few times that there have been issues.

I remember the conversation at the Gap and we had it done and built within a couple of weeks. Once the domain had been obtained and hosted, I had this set up, tested and live by 6/9/11. I remember very well the 3 or 4 false starts because of configuration differences between what the hosting service wanted and what I was used to using. I was used to a UNIX configuration. Very similar issue as wiring a small block Ford ignition using the small block Chevy cylinder numbering...takes a while to figure out what you did wrong.

With the UNIX setup on the old KTW board server, I just had to copy the configuration files to the server and everything worked. Changes were easy. With the Windows server used by the K2S board, I have to use their server side installation/upgrade interface. Not as convenient and a couple of times, one change or addition undid my previous changes. It was a sharp learning curve and I had to unlearn quite a few things I was used to. |
