Anyone have a G3SS they could do a test for me.

I have one and am getting no spark.

I tested the stator coils, as in the manual, and am getting 1.7 ohms.
book says 0.5 ohms.

I had a NOS one, a whole NOS stator plate with everything on it, and it tested the same.
Bought another NOS coil, and it tested the same once installed.

Is the book wrong?

I still get no spark.

If anyone has a G3SS, maybe they can test the resistance of theirs, from black stator wire to ground.

Hard to believe I have 3 bad stator coils.

Are you subtracting the resistance of the meter leads? Touch them together and read ohms to get the lead resistance. Then measure stator and add the meter lead resistance to this reading for the actual resistance reading.

I will measure again tonite, but I believe last time I looked I had about .3 or .4 ohms lead to lead.

That still does not get me close to the 0.5 ohms in the book.

Thanks

Also, if you can try a different meter it would be a good idea. I agree that it's unlikely that you have three bad coils, all with about the same resistance.

Got a new Fluke coming Friday.

Got an ignition coil coming tomorrow.

Any way to test the output from the stators black wire?

It puts out a 6 volt pulse to the coil, right.
wondering if a meter or bulb can check that.

Be nice to know if the 0.5ohms from the book is correct.
Or if someone has G3SS, to get a measurement
