One of the absolute legends of motorcycle road racing, and a great guy, passed away this morning. Phil Read. No, he didn't ride a Kawasaki, but was the first rider to ever win a World Championship for Yamaha, and 4 more for them for yamaha.

He was my friend, like my friend, Yvon. Get ready, lads, that great race in the sky is coming closer, what a heavenly grid, and race that will eventually be. R.I.P.

Sorry your friend is gone, Dave. It's a strange thing watching the people you know die. I used to feel bad for my father when he was in his 90s and everyone he knew from his generation was gone.
