New member to this Forum.
Although I have been on the 2stroke forum world for a while.
See some of those members here as well

Just got an 81 KH250.

Have a question on the cylinders.
Wanting to clean them up a bit.
They look like they have a silver paint on them.

Can anyone confirm if this model had them painted?

Hi Milian, and welcome!

I'm not an authority on triples, but I'm not aware of any that had painted cylinders from the factory. If there were any, I'm sure someone will be along to say so. Your photos make it look like someone used silver spray paint to try to improve their appearance without bead blasting them.

Yes, that does make it look like some were painted from the factory. My '72 H2 did not originally have painted cylinders.

I guess the presence of original wrapping paper doesn't prove the cylinders were not altered!

There are numerous NOS KH250 cylinders on Ebay.
They all show the same silver color with some apparent flaking.

I will look closer at mine as well, when I get to cleaning.

Also, surprised to see this one has CDI, not points

No 250 had cdi. '72 250 had paint. Be careful not to take what you see on eBay as gospel.
However, it's your bike and you can do whatever you please with it.

I will have to keep digging, and take a closer look at mine to determine the fin cylinder finish

Any bets on the stock CDI?
