Any tried and true method of unsticking gummed and corroded carbs ? So far after 3 days in carb cleaner, they look better but the slides are still stuck. I have also tried various lubricants but no go so far. I do have some evaporust that I plan on soaking next. Don't have any spares so I'm having to deal with what I got. Thanks. |

Have you tried lacquer thinner or acetone? |

Not yet Jim but I will add that to the process. Thanks for the suggestion. |

If it's stuck with varnish from old fuel, either of those solvents should soften it. |

Yeah, it's mainly old fuel varnish. |

Acetone and/or laquer thinner has ways worked for me. You might have to soak the carbs for a bit, though. |

Victory. Got the 3rd carb unstuck. Now I get to try out my new ultrasonic cleaner. |
