Any easy to apply spray paints people have had good luck with holding up to brake fluid? Like to get it painted since I am rebuilding master anyhow.

Durabake by Duracoat. It's a semi gloss black that you bake in the oven for 15 minutes at 350 and it's the perfect match for factory black and it is impervious to chemicals. It's all I use.

I’ll look into. Not sure the old lady gonna like me using her oven for that though

B.B.Q. is my go to baking oven......... (of course!). Retired painter here, the slow heating and Cooling Down process is important. You can actually cook food on a BBQ, too!

I have not seen them in a while but I was a big fan of the PJ1 paints. I use an old toaster oven for baking small parts and the BBQ for larger pieces.
Rustoleum Professional is not bad either. As for brake fluid the best thing to do is switch over to DOT5.

I can tell you for sure that Imron isn't damaged by brake fluid. I'd guess that any good polyurethane paint isn't either.

I was thinking of going over to dot5 since the entire system is cleaned out. Rebuilt master and caliper and hoses. Would make my problem go away easier. Then I could just use some of the paint I have handy

Be very careful when using DOT5, it is silicone based, but also holds air bubbles fairly easily, not easy to get the really tiny bubbles out. IT DOES NOT LIKE BEING BLED TOP TO BOTTOM, best to bleed bottom to top INTO the master, SLOWLY.

DOT 4 is OK, works for most systems very well.

Yes, DOT5 can be more difficult to bleed but IMO it is worth it when working around expensive candy paint.

Guts- does the gun paint need self etching primer after stripping the master cylinder and before painting?
I ordered some Wheelers Ceramakote instead of your recommendation due to cost for a couple of master cylinders. I also have a handgun barrel that needs repainting.
