G'day fellow triple 2 strokers,
Out of pure curiosity your opinions, my fully nut n bolt restored 1970 H1 (Candy Red) I have on very good nick, (condition) no dents or rust what so ever, original exhausts, the trouble is, the centre one is the only original exhaust pipe off a 1970 H1, (triangle baffles) The two outside exhausts are from a H1B with the smaller round baffles, (I acquired two H1s four years ago, a 70H1 good nick barn find plus a H1B x raced bike that had a home made 3 into 1 exhaust pipes so used the H1B as a parts bike).
Do you guys suggest to keep these on the 70H1 or put totally new after markets S/S Doremi pipes with triangle baffles that are made for the 69 to 71 H1's which I've got hold of a set from Graeme Cosby here in NZ.

I had a new red H1 in 1970, and 90% of the restorations I see are much better than what they left the factory like. Go with the heart! I mean, do you have to put crappy brakes on them and centre stands that rattle and scrape all the time, a rotor that does a centrifugal short, etc. ...?! Just one opinion. (I loved my H1!)

Just my $0.02 - seeing how it's a "nut and bolt" restoration so everything on it is perfect, follow the same with those Doremi exhausts, or for even more fun, throw on some nice expansion chambers, go even faster and louder! ;)

Something to be said for original exhausts 8-), right?! .... But after a nuanced restoration, having mismatched pipes would drive me crazy. Even if they were stock.
