H1B onwards and any H2 should swap and bolt on. I bet someone here would straight trade a disk setup for your drum front end. |

From what I've read from this board, ideally you want to use the lower tree from the H1B in order to maintain the correct (same) geometry as the 69-71 when upgrading to the disc-brake set-up. The rest of the parts - forks, axles, calipers, etc., from all other models should work fine as pointed out. |

Ok thanks for the replys so just to confirm....are we saying its the lower tree that changes the geometry and not the frame headstock .its just that its easier to find latter ones ,D,E,F than to find a B type ....thanks for your help |

Darn, I just can't recall...it's been awhile since I learned of this detail in lower clamps. I hope others will chime in with a definitive answer. In the meantime I'll search around to see if I can find more information. Update: Here's a couple links regarding this topic: http://kawi2strokes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2852&p=28115&hilit=h1b+triple+clamp#p28115 http://kawi2strokes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2866&p=28211&hilit=h1b+triple+clamp#p28211 http://kawi2strokes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=11890&p=118336&hilit=h1b+triple+clamp#p118336 |

The triples all have parallel trees. IE the forks are parallel to the steering head. It's the distance from the steering head center line to the center of the forks that is the critical for the trail. There is a calculator on Dales site. |
