I know that I have not posted here too much, but I need some help.
I bought a 1972 s2 with a Vermont registration. The state of Missouri does not recognize registration as proof of ownership.
They told me you need a title to get a title.
I am looking for someone who would be willing to "buy" my s2 and get a title then sell it back to me.
I did some internet searches, and it does not come up as stolen.

STAAB Agency used to be a place you could get one.

You sure Missouri does that? Since Vermont doesn't issue titles, the idea is that other states have to recognize that and accept it, even if they normally don't recognize regs as proof of ownership. Did you specifically point out that Vermont doesn't issue titles? You may need to see a supervisor. Sorry if you've been through everything you can do already.

In my state I was able to get a title for an untitled motorcycle with a procedure that involved getting a title bond. It was fairly easy, and the bond ends up costing $100. If Missouri really won't take the VT title, there may be a way to get the title legitimately. You have to find the right person to ask, or the right page of the state web site.

You can get a bonded title in Iowa, you can get a dirt bike titled as a non-resident in South Dakota. So the S3 should be easy. I have gotten a bonded title in Iowa, pretty easy just slow.

Joe, I had the title bond overnighted, and the whole procedure of getting legal from start to finish took three days. Next time I can do it in two. See how much red tape I can cut through when I've waited way too long to get ready for Deals Gap?

I had basically the same experience in South Carolina with a Vermont registration. I had to go through a few people at DMV until the right one figured it out. Don't take no for an answer, because not everyone at DMV has a brain.
