Hi guys, I have just joined the forum having got myself a HIF, its a bit of a project but I'm hoping I can get it on the road then improve from there. I'm sure I'll be posting a few questions, hopefully not too stupid!! I will be using the search function too..

Anyway, my first question is, can I use Z650 rear wheel for the short term? I will get my original wheel rebuilt when funds allow but I can pick up 650 wheel at a sensible price. As long as Cush drive and brake plate work I can swap bearings if that all it needs.

Regarding the front wheel, my wheel is fairly good but it has a black hub and just looks wrong, I wonder if its not a H1 wheel, maybe an old Z900? I must sort out pictures soon.

Thanks, Phil

Hello Phil, welcome to the board!

I don't have the wheel information you want, but I have a feeling the swaps aren't quite that simple. Do you have any photos of the H1?

If you haven't found the resource site yet, here it is: www.kawatriple.com

Black hub is correct for H1 disc brake front wheel.

Rims & spokes are available and not too pricey if you don't use stainless steel spokes. If you don't want to lace & true, see "wheels & brakes 4 u" thread in vendors section.
