Saw the name of who I thought may be an old acquaintance, on face place about 9 months ago.
So I sent him a friend request and a short note, to ask if he was the same Jess Thomas, I met while working at Kawasaki.
To my surprise, he replied last night, to say he was indeed the same fellow.
He was at that time, a technical editor for Cycle Magazine.
I have told a few of you about riding on a Triumph trident owned by Gary Nixon, that had been left at the shop I hung out at and worked part time.
When I asked Jess about it, he said this...

"Actually, Nixon loaned me that Trident road racer for that year, think it was 1972. It was the one he raced the year before. I got 7th place at Daytona on it in the 200 miler. That must have been Guy Dalton's shop. Don't remember why it was at the Kawasaki shop. I've just now begun using this messenger feature and found your entry. Is Dalton still alive?"

I had to tell him "Buddy Dalton" passed away years ago, but we had a nice exchange of PMs and caught up a bit.
Of course he did not remember this 17 year old smart ass kid, as well as I remembered meeting a star like him. LOL
And I never told him Buddy let me take the Trident for a blast.. SHHHH mums the word.

Now that is two awesome things with parts of my past in the same day.
The other being the fellow I sold a car to, having friends in Canada we both knew.
