I have 18 inch aluminum spoke wheel on my H2, been using Bridgestone BT45 100/90/18
On my Z1 900 19' mag, Bridgestone Spitfire 11 100/90/19

I put an Avon AM26 on the rear of the Z1, seems like a good tire-dennis kirk has front for about $85

Any other suggestions? I used to run Dunlop Elites, not sure what they have these days. They started making Eltes for Harley only, will search what's current.

So both bikes need new front tires-H2 has fairly new BT 45 so I might keep front same brand-

Suggestions appreciated, thanks

JB

I even raced on the BT45's. The S11's do last longer with a bit less grip if you don't ride super hard.

Yeah, what I do have to find out is what's up with Dunlops-it's been years since I used the Elites, not sure what they have now.
I just don't like the tread pattern on the front BT45's

The S11 is a really good all around tire. Good grip unless you are a very aggressive rider and they have good longevity. BT45 has better grip but has about 1/2 the lifespan as far as treadwear. Try to keep your front and back the same so that the tires have the same grip characteristics when you need them the most.

Dunlop website indicates the 404, these seem to be the most affordable ones-but H rated, not V

 I have used these in the past on my GS didn't like them.

I have some Shinko 712 on my kz but I don't like those either they are really squirrely until they get hot, but I run shinko verge front and podium rear on my H2 and I like those just fine.

Next time around bt45 for everything never tried them but you never hear a bad word.

Who knows Im a sucky rider anyway

H rating doesn't make a bit of difference if you're on public roads, or if you're on a track and running below 130 mph.

BT45s are excellent. The supermoto guys around here run BT45 front tires on both the front and rear of their bikes. I've ridden with them and they're very fast with front tires on both wheels. They'll definitely let you drag a knee.

S11s grip very well too. I can't say that I've ever had an S11 slide either. I don't know if I agree that S11s last that much longer than BT45s though. Some, but not tons in my experience.

Avon AM26 Roadriders are also excellent. I've run those knee-dragging hard at the Gap and never had one let loose. They seem to last longer than their soft grippy compound would lead you to believe.

The H tires are also supposed to be more compliant as the extra stiffness is not needed for the higher sustained speeds of a V rating.

Do you people get the Dunlop K81/TT100 tyres over there? They come in Sport compound or Touring compound, and really look trick if you want that period look, and they work well anyway. I just haven't seen much discussion of them around the forums...……! Imperial sizes are hard compound, Metric sizes are softer.
